How do i work out what size skip i need?
Choosing the right size of skip is a balance between cost and volume. you donít want to pay more than you need to, or to run out of space and have to arrange another skip. we have a range of small and large skips, including popular sizes such as 4 yard, 6 yard, and 8 yard skips. we also have experience in what size of skip different projects are likely to need. if you donít know what you need, then let us know what the skip is for and weíll help you work it out.
How much does it cost to hire a skip?
This depends on the size of the skip and where you are. we aim to provide competitive skip hire prices based on your waste skip hire needs and your location, so tell us what you need and weíll do our best to get you cheap skip hire.
Do i need a permit?
If your skip isnít going on your garden or drive then youíll probably need a permit. most councils require one to put a skip on public land, including paths and roads. the skip hire company can usually apply for the permit, but in a few places the hirer must apply. we can help you with the permit process.
permits usually last for 28 days, so try to plan your work to finish in that time.
How full can my skip be?
Your skip canít be filled higher than its sides. this is a legal limit, to make sure that the contents of skips can be transported safely. please donít try to save money through small skip hire when you need something larger Ė it will only lead to extra trips to empty the skip and so extra costs.
What should i do with waste that canít go in my skip?
This depends upon what the waste is and what facilities your local council offers. most of the materials that canít be included in a skip have their own disposal sections at local waste management sites. if in doubt, contact your local council for advice and support.
