What You Can Realistically Expect from a Serviced Office

submitted on 14 November 2022
There's no denying it – business space is at an all-time high, and entrepreneurs and business people are wondering how they can find suitable office space for their needs without spending too much of their financial resources on it. But there is a solution – and plenty of entrepreneurs and business people have taken advantage: the serviced office. It is a solution that has sprung up all across the United Kingdom, and it's a solution that is convenient and attractive, not to mention inherently flexible indeed. But if you have heard about a serviced office but aren't quite sure what it can give you – or you'd like to know more – here's what you can realistically expect from it.

The definition
A serviced office is, simply put, an office space available for daily, weekly, or monthly rental. It is not a co-working space, mind you – a co-working space, although similar in some ways to a serviced office, is a lot smaller – you are essentially just renting a desk/workstation for a few hours/days/weeks. Serviced offices give you more privacy than a co-working space, and if you have staff that will be working with you, then it's better to have a serviced office.

With a serviced office, you will essentially have a private space to work, just like a regular office. The only difference is that serviced offices are often equipped with the facilities every modern office needs – from telephone lines to Broadband and more, which is already set up. Additionally, serviced offices, referred to as executive or managed offices, have access to a complete list of amenities and facilities, such as reception areas with staff, meeting rooms, business and administrative support, maintenance, parking, pantries, and common areas. Who can benefit most from a serviced office?
A lot of companies and business enterprises have already made use of a serviced office because it presents a more flexible solution compared to traditional office space rental. But, of course, anyone can make use of them. Still, they are most suitable for start-up enterprises, professionals, and anyone who would like to benefit from their flexibility, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Serviced offices are particularly popular with enterprises that want to branch out and expand. They are also quite popular with new businesses that don't want to waste their funds on standard office space. These businesses often find serviced offices a more attractive deal because they have access to all the usual facilities and amenities available to a company – such as meeting rooms, manned lobbies and reception desks, security, kitchens and pantries, and business services, amongst others.

What does a serviced office include?
Aside from gaining access to your own private working space, you can also access all the communication facilities you will need (such as landline and WiFi), which are ready to be used immediately – you just have to set up, and you're ready to go.

Also, there are pantries and kitchens and office equipment, such as handsets and computers, and conference or meeting rooms that you can hire on an as-needed basis. Another handy facility is a reception desk, where staff can take calls, security personnel, CCTV systems, and alarms.
